WELCOME to WikiChiro.Org, or if you forget, we are also "ChiroWiki.org".
THIS IS THE SITE FOR OBJECTIVE INFORMATION ABOUT CHIROPRACTIC & RELATED PROFESSIONS
We are NOT opposed to criticism of Chiropractic. We are opposed to completely biased sources.

See the Sidebar (far left) for a portal directly to the core Chiropractic articles

  • RED links, mean we NEED an article(s).
  • BLUE links are a link to an existing article
  • BLACK means you're already there

WikiChiro, like all Wiki family members, is an encyclopedia that anyone can edit.
Our three tenets are: Be Polite; Be Objective/Impartial; Be referenced!
Remember that this is a work in progress. YOU will determine the ultimate direction this site takes. Join us, in making this the premiere site for information about Chiropractic.

NEWS FLASH

FLASH - NEW BOARD MEMBER

The WikiChiro Board Welcomes the representative of National University of Health Sciences,
Assoc. Prof., Ezra Cohen.

WIKICHIRO MOVED TO NEW FASTER SERVER The web hosting service we were originally using simply refused to help us solve several problems; e.g., that server speed was abysmal, and also that we kept getting server errors. So, we have migrated our site to a new hosting service, and all appears to be working really well. Please try again to edit on this potentially important site. We are all about open access.

NJ MAJOR BREAKING NEWS!!!
Governor Jon Corzine of New Jersey, in one of his last acts before Chris Christie was sworn in Jan. 19, signed S-565/(and Assembly bill) into law, significantly modernizing the Scope of Chiropractic Practice in New Jersey. (See new scope in Article) The new law, for all intents and purposes give exclusive rights to the practice of Naturopathy and Homeopathy to Chiropractic physicians in New Jersey. Allopathic physicians in the "garden State are prohibited from dispensing ANY food supplements, cell salts, Vitamins, (except as samples; and of course they can prescribe them), or other herbals, protomorphogens, etc. ONLY DC's can dispense and administer such products under the new regulations.

Ourmed ANNOUNCING
A new relationship has just commenced with a sister site, OurMed.Org has added a link to Wikichiro, which will now provide its sources for Chiropractic. Similarly, OurMed.Org, which has a very prestigious Board, will become the source for Wikichiro's articles on intrinsically medical conditions.

OurMed is a Medical Wiki-type site, with open sourced medical data, but with a difference; Ourmed is committed to honest integration of medical data and will require openness from its editors. And, Like WikiChiro, it will not accept totally biased reporting. Bravo! Viva, Ourmed!

Curiously, after the ugly battle between the anti-alternative health forces on Wikipedia, Dr. Stephen Press, co-founder of WikiChiro, has been named BUREAUCRAT (the highest level of privileges) on our sister site, Ourmed, by Florence Devouard a/k/a "anthere", who was Chairman of the Wikimedia Board and one of the founding members of the OurMed Board!

Twitter

NEW TWITTER CONNECTION: The WikiChiro Blog Now is equipped with technology that allows the postings to be PUSHED to Twitter, as tweets. This way, anyone interested in the subjects will receive them automatically.

Vision for Site

Our vision for the site.

This exciting new project will provide the World with a portal to information about our profession. Our Wiki is to be modeled after Wikipedia, with a few basic differences.

  • 1.- WikiChiro should remain a Chiropractic domain. Naturally, we can look at other related alternative and complementary professions, IF they are rationally based, actually work, even if only empirically, AND they have at least SOME basis in rational scientific concepts. I feel very strongly that we should, remain mainstream. So: no crystal therapies, iridology, or dancing in Time's Square in grass skirts; unless you are FULLY prepared to back your ideas up in scientific studies; and,
  • 2.- Apropos that; WikiChiro should attempt to keep fringe elements out of the public face of this profession, and maintain a scientific and rational basis for any claims made by our contributors; and,
  • 3.- Like our big sister site WikiPEDIA, we need to stress that references are everything! In short, if you can't reference your claim, then you can't post it here; and,
  • 4.- We need a few closely trusted experts in our field's studies, to help in getting started; and, we need a few others who may not know much about Chiropractic, but are experts in the workings of wikipedia to help us get some of their functions working here; and,
  • 5.- We invite the directors of research of each of the World's Chiropractic Colleges, to participate in making this the forefront for Chiropractic research findings, and articles for the public. We plan to create a Board of Directors, and turn this into a non-profit foundation to perpetuate the database in perpetuity. Please log on, create an account and say so on your talk pages.
  • Finally: for those who would denigrate the largest NON-SURGICAL healing arts profession, by vandalizing this site. Know that you WILL be blocked, and then banned, very quickly under the same rules as on WikiPEDIA.

So...If you are here to help; PLEASE create an account; log in, and pitch in to help make this the premiere site in Chiropractic.

Let's empty the libraries of Chiropractic into this site and together we will make this THE go to place for Chiropractic data.

Wikichiro's sister projects

Wikichiro is hosted by the Wikichiro Foundation, a non-profit organization that is developed as a clone of the Wikipedia group of projects. Wikipedia, (Which has NOTHING to do with Wikichiro, other then that the Wikimedia foundation provides the software to do this free) hosts a blog, cooperates with Wikipedia's pages wherever they allow, and coordinates with Ourmed.org.
